About me

I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Mathematical Sciences and Center for Machine Learning Research at PKU. Previously, I was a postdoc at the Program in Applied and Computational Mathematics (PACM) of Princeton University. I completed my Ph.D. in computational mathematics at PKU in 2018, advised by Prof. Weinan E. Before that, I received my B.S. degree in pure mathematics from Nankai University in 2012.

My current research focuses on understanding how deep learning works, including

  • Approximation and representation power of neural networks

  • Convergence and implicit bias of SGD

  • Foundation models and transformers

Students

We are actively seeking self-motivated PhD and undergraduate students. If you are interested in working with me, please feel free to contact me via email.
